Aristocracy from the east - my cats, my passion

Well, let's write something about our pupils. How best to define them?

I once read: "The elegance of Degas dancers, the agility of a doe, lion's courage, dog affection, aristocratic manners, extraordinary intelligence and operatic voice", but in turn someone else wrote: "Dogs have masters, and cats have servants."

Yes! All this best describes the breeds of my cats - Siamese, Oriental and Seychelles cats, which are among the oldest and longest known breeds among domestic cats, and come from the Far East, present-day Thailand.

When it comes to what people like, unfortunately not everyone likes these cats. And they are really original. Many people tell me "they're so ugly they're pretty." They change their minds when they see them live, especially when they spend some time with them.

I will not try to describe here the details of body structure, standards for cats of this category, you can find it on every page devoted to cats. It is worth emphasizing the most important fact that all three breeds have the same body structure.
In fact, they only differ in the color of the eyes and the length and color of the hair, more precisely:

  • Siamese short-haired cats (SIA) - necessarily blue eyes and point color (dark face, ears and feet) - the long-haired variety is Balinese cats (BAL)

  • oriental shorthair cats (OSH) - color very different from single-color to tortoiseshell with beautiful green eyes - longhair variety are oriental longhair cats (OLH)

  • Seychelles short-haired cats (SYS) - with blue eyes and white color (preferably with a lamp with ultraviolet) - the long-haired variety is the long-haired Seychelles (SYL)

Longhair varieties differ slightly from shorthair varieties with a slight hair length all over the body, but have more hair on the tail. We should also mention a new related breed that is becoming more and more popular, i.e. Peterbalds (PEB), i.e. oriental cats without hair.

In a word, who likes what he will always find. This is in a nutshell. Interestingly, all three breeds can be born in one litter. I had such a case: two Siamese kittens, two oriental kittens and two Seychelles - all shorthair, of course, after shorthair parents: an oriental female and a Seychelles male.

Let's consider their character.

(<class = "small_sz"> Wikipedia (http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kot_syjamski):
“They are very intelligent, willing to learn tricks. Inquisitive, bold, they make contacts easily and enjoy visiting guests. They feel good in the presence of other cats or dogs. They have a great temperament and are known to be attached to the owner, if they lose him, they can even pay for their health. They try to accompany the caregiver in all household activities, they loudly demand caresses and attention. They are also jealous sometimes. They need to be given a lot of attention, so they should not be owned by people who spend most of their time outside the home. "

I absolutely agree with that, I will add just one word to define their character: Wonderful!
I never thought that cats like this could happen. I have several of them and each of them is delightful, but as it happens in humans, not everyone is the same in cats.

My first, of course the most beloved, Fairy Tale - amazing shrew, as it is oriental tortoiseshell. If there are several cats in the house, the oriental cat most often dominates the rest of the household. He's always waiting for me at the door when I come home. She sleeps with her head on my shoulder. He defends his territory very much, cares for his offspring, you can't have cleaner children. I have the impression that at home he only trusts me, if he is to give birth, he "waits" for me. She has had several births before, but never without me, maybe because her first birth was also my first. Amazing how she brings up her little ones beautifully. I was always afraid that all the furniture would be damaged, but not, they are taught decent behavior from an early age (it is very important that the babies stay with their mother at least until they are 12 weeks old).

My second one is her daughter from the first litter. Ana - a female Seychelles tortie. Aristocrat in all its glory. Graceful movements, it almost flows when it moves. Even though she is a tortie, she is very different from her oriental mother. Always very calm, likes to cuddle, to crawl under the blanket and to have a good night's sleep there. Because she is very fearful, she got the nickname "snail" (always curled up). Despite his graceful movements, however, he is incredibly clumsy, wherever he goes, he'll always throw something off. Unfortunately, she did not inherit walking at height from her mother, who has never lost anything.

Bianissima is another Seychelles female and also a tortie female. And yet she is completely different from her sister Ana. Bianca is everywhere, she acts like a little dog. She is everywhere where I am, she does everything with me at home, and her favorite place is my knees. He retrieves his favorite ball beautifully. Unfortunately, it is very tiring at times. This is the most noisy of my kittens, I am often reminded by her that she just brought me the ball and should be thrown. You can teach these cats a lot, you just need a little patience, all my treasures come from a tap on the leg. Generally, these races are very talkative, but Bianka is a master of conversation - there is an answer to my every word.

You have to remember that every time I come home, I have to listen to my cats serenade. I just think that because they are very social, they have to complain to me how unhappy they were without me. Then they follow me everywhere and broadcast, only after a long while they give up and can go back to sleep. It is also normal that when we want some privacy, e.g. to read a book, the kitten will definitely be between us and the book. They are just everywhere, and preferably on our lap. They like to cuddle and pet each other very much, but that does not mean that they are couch cats. They love to mess around, running chases around the house, playing tag. They love to jump after a toy on a fishing rod. I often watch them wrestling with each other. The most exciting time is when there are little kittens at home. When it is eight weeks, wars begin to the fullest: racing, scraping at everything possible and the funniest jumping like little "fleas" on four paws at once. Unfortunately, babies have no sense and often wake me up at six in the morning, organizing races on my bedding. Fortunately, it doesn't take long, they grow out of it and sleep as long as I do.

And now! Our "boy", oriental male - Cuore Dolce Mio. I guarantee you that you have not met such a male in your life. He is a food fanatic. We managed to arrange the other cats so that they would not pick up from the table, but not from it. I advise you not to leave anything unattended on the table, it is immediately torn and dragged to the center of the carpet. When he finds food in a bowl, even then he has to talk. It just cannot be described. He is ubiquitous, but I do not know any more clumsiness than him, even Ana is a ballerina with a rope with him. Since this is our first male, we spoiled him amazingly. It is also true that males are more lovable than females. He looks most beautiful when he thinks about it - then he has an expression on his face longing for reason. But she is not afraid of anything, even our oriental tortie, she can get angry, meow, do anything else, and our Cuore acts as if she is not around at all.

But the most important thing in dealing with these cats: there is always "something" entangled under your feet, you can always hear that someone has something to say, and there is always "something" sleeping on your lap. And when there are more, then they all sleep together, lying on you, possibly next to you, when there is no more room for them for you.

You can see for yourself that to live with such cats you just have to love them.

I greet everyone
